RATTLER
OVERVIEW
This is a project I made in a month for a university project. Heavily inspired by quakelikes and oldschool aesthetic. It was largely a learning project in which I got to practice interior level design, texturing, mechanics, and sounds effects.
This is meant to be more of a short prototype, however it does have a start and an end, as well as a menu with brightness and difficulty settings.
You play as a rattler, a person whose profession is exterminating stillaumbras - spectral creatures that appear across city sewers. The goal is to kill the ghost by rattling your medication. Stay alive by eating your medication and avoiding the ghost.
ROLE AND CONTRIBUTIONS
This was a solo project, and every asset in the game is made solely by me. I mostly focused on the level design for a chaser game (enemy chasing the player constantly), and on atmosphere-heavy retro aesthetic. I learned a lot about level design and how important metrics and grid-based design is for interiors. As time did not allow me for more modular design in Unity, I handmade the rest of the level in Blender.
